Becoming US!

Like most people getting together at our age we come with a story.... And here is ours.  We met on line, and realized pretty fast that we were both talkers and laughers!  And that is what we did a lot of when we were together......5 months into our relationship, we decided to take a trip to CA.  A brief visit to the ocean, changed our lives forever.   Tony was body surfing and was clobbered by a huge wave.  The wave flipped him over and he broke his neck on the ocean floor.  The story has many many sub stories, that are both funny, sad and frankly terrifying.  But in the end.. we quickly realized life is short, life can change in a heartbeat, and we loved each other with all our hearts.  Our families came together, Tony's Fire Department was amazing, and the support we were devoured with, changed how we saw life!

I was newly divorced after a 17 years, two kids, a house, and they had ME to provide for them... only me.  I wanted everything  for them, so I went out and did the best I could.  From being an at home mom for 13 years, to working full time in Sales, I was determined!

Being the busy, single mom I had become, dating was not only difficult, but scary.  Decided to try online, since it gave me a chance to "screen" the guys I went out with.  Saw this guy, he had 10 different pictures, making him look different in each, contacted him, talked to him on line, on the phone and finally in person.. We have been in constant communications since.. Married a year later!  Brought two families together to create one, and gave my kids the best gift I ever could have given.... A strong role model, and a father figure they could strive to be like!

Both kids are now college graduates, Ryan is a RN like Tony and Lindsay will be starting Nursing school very soon.

  • A Father of 2 teens.  I had my kids and work.  I always did well at work but struggled as a single Father.  I did my best to cook, clean, chauffeur and repeat.  I had not been in a relationship for a few years.  I decided to try online dating and created a profile on plentyoffish.com. I uploaded about 10 recent pictures of myself.  I saw Lisa's pictures and thought she is out of my league but from my brief online dating, I knew that the pictures sometimes are not so accurate.  I contacted her.  We emailed, we text, we talked.  Finally we meet. I remember waking into the coffee shop and seeing her for the first time.  She was more beautiful than her pictures.
